The Longer Mood Petition

for those who thirst for a longer mood

The number of characters allowed in the mood section of Elftown is 50. Here are some examples of what does not fit in 50 characters:
"Genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration- Albert Einstien" turns to "Genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspi"

"Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it.- Leo Tolstoy" turns to "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the major" (what did the Major do? What Major?)

"War does not determine who is right - only who is left.- Bertrand Russel" becomes "War does not determine who is right - only who is"

If you want a longer mood, put your name (link to your home page, like [peacefrog]) under this declaration-
I (Your Alias) have been inconvenienced in the past by the limited mood length. I believe that some words or phrases I might wish to enter reach at least 100 characters. I also believe that longer moods would benefit other Elftown members besides myself, and hence I would like the characters allowed in the mood text increased:

1. [KnightAngel] - I don't know if a hundred characters is to much or to little but I do know that a couple of times I have wished that there was just a few more characters in the mood.
2. [Sebhar] - As co-founder of this wiki, I second that.
3. [peacefrog] Obviously.
4. [Hackworth] - I like my longwinded moods... here's to having them be even more so.
5. [Araglas] I agree, longer moods are needed
6. [Moving on in Life] I say 150 characters. I got alot to say with so little to say it WITH
7. [XxTsomexX] Longer moods would be great!
8. [Lord_Guac] I completely agree
9. [Your Favorite Stranger] My moods cannot be understood up if they're incomplete
10. [drakkar] this has always been a problem on my strokes of poetic justice
11. [Cardiopulmonary Atlas] I need more space for the random stuff that I like to write up there
12. [tyler likes to eat zebra cakes] Yes! i had this joke that would have been funny but i couldnt fit it up there!!!!
13. [Bookwyrm] Well, I can understand the need for moods to be short, but there have been several times when I've been inconvenienced by the character limit. Not to mention it's rather irritating when people start adding their moods to their names making them both super-long simply because there isn't enough space in their mood.
14. [prairierose] what everyone else said
15. [bungalowbill] - I think these little blurbs should be limited to 50 characters...
[Maybe a hundred would be more appropriate to the cause... ^_^] --[Sebhar]
16. [Amarantha] says that she cannot put up her shortest Jane Austen quote in the mood box, and so she cries "Longer mood! Longer mood! Shelves in the closet - happy thought indeed!"
17. [Elodicressida] *bribes Amarantha* Longer moods! We need longer moods in o

2006-08-23 [peacefrog]: Sometimes I can't believe these things come out of my synapses.

2006-08-23 [KnightAngel]: Okay o.o

2006-08-23 [peacefrog]: It means I think that this is rather silly but also strangely amusing.

2006-08-23 [KnightAngel]: Hehe okay ^^'

2006-08-23 [Araglas]: Hey all

2006-08-24 [Sebhar]: Hi ^_^ Thanks for signing!

2006-08-24 [Araglas]: Welcome, quite welcome ^_^

2006-08-28 [Moving on in Life]: I'll sign. BOOYAH

2006-08-28 [Sebhar]: We now have... six. Is our target fifty? Or a hundred?

2006-08-28 [peacefrog]: I figure we'd just wait until we were bored.

2006-08-28 [Moving on in Life]: I'LL ADVERTISE! People listen wehn I advertise. I already got three people at my RP wiki, so MWA! But it MIGHT NOT FIT IN MY MOOD >.>

2006-08-28 [peacefrog]: Thanks.

2006-08-28 [Moving on in Life]: No problem

2006-08-28 [XxTsomexX]: ^^

2006-08-28 [Moving on in Life]: See? already added one!

2006-08-28 [XxTsomexX]: XD thanks

2006-08-28 [Moving on in Life]: no problem. Hey, I got a wiki I made that has a couple of my better poems up. Message me for the name, cause it's a PRIVATE WIKI!

2006-08-28 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-08-29 [Moving on in Life]: I'm serious >.>

2006-08-30 [Sebhar]: TEN!!

2006-08-30 [XxTsomexX]: ten? oh XD lol

2006-08-30 [tyler likes to eat zebra cakes]: !!! yaaaay!

2006-08-30 [XxTsomexX]: yaaay!! XD

2006-08-30 [tyler likes to eat zebra cakes]: lolz

2006-08-31 [Lothuriel]: Have you tried the Elftown Suggestions Forum?

2006-08-31 [Sebhar]: I wasn't aware there was such a thing. Is it just what you wrote @wiki?

2006-08-31 [Lothuriel]: Nope, it is a Forum.

2006-08-31 [Sebhar]: All right then... Thank you!

2006-08-31 [Lothuriel]: No problem.

2006-08-31 [Moving on in Life]: huh?

2006-08-31 [Lothuriel]: There is a forum here in Elftown called Elftown Suggestions. If you post your idea there, [Hedda], [Nita] or one of the other council or crew members (the folks that run this joint) will respond and let you know what they think about it.

2006-08-31 [XxTsomexX]: ^^'

2006-08-31 [Moving on in Life]: Good Idea! Thank you, Wiki Patrol!

2006-08-31 [Lothuriel]: You are most welcome.

2006-08-31 [Moving on in Life]: ^_^ To the Suggestion Forums! CHAAAARGE!

2006-08-31 [XxTsomexX]: ^_^

2006-08-31 [peacefrog]: Neat

2006-09-10 [Amarantha]: Though actually, i think that quote by Bertrand Russell is quite accurate when it is shaved down. Like "what kills you makes you dead." which was said by my yoga teacher accidentally in discussion one day. War does determine who is. If you aren't, you must have lost.
"War does not determine who is right - only who is left." becomes "War does not determine who is right - only who is"

2006-09-10 [peacefrog]: Yeah, I actually thought that was funny. 'Cause I'm morbid.

2006-09-10 [Moving on in Life]: I realized it, too, but I kept quiet for fear of someone hating me for bein so cold-hearted lol

2006-09-11 [Amarantha]: Morbidity is only another word for dark humor. *says sententiously*

Really, if you can't laugh at something, then life isn't something to be in. Even if it seems sad, then you still have to laugh at it, because how can you handle it otherwise?

"After all, what do we live for but to make sport for our neighbors, and to laugh at them in our turn." - JA

2006-09-11 [XxTsomexX]: hmm...

2006-09-11 [peacefrog]: Excellent point.
By the way, that comes out "what do we live for but to make sport for our neig" in the mood box.
(see, now I'm laughing at myself)

2006-09-12 [Moving on in Life]: yeah

2006-09-12 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-13 [bungalowbill]: What up, neig?

2006-09-13 [Sebhar]: ...neig?

2006-09-13 [peacefrog]: Good fences make good neigs.

2006-09-13 [Sebhar]: Also shrubbery. (p.s., has anyone seen my forum post?!)

2006-09-13 [peacefrog]: What forum?

2006-09-13 [Sebhar]: Click on the forum button at the top of your screen, then go to Elftown Suggestions (or some such) and my Mood request is there. I need backup!

2006-09-16 [Moving on in Life]: neig = neighbor, Sebbie

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: I picked up on that, thanks.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: And it's never "Sebbie". "Ie" is so tacky. It's Sebby, or Sebhar, or Seb.

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: I was all subtle and neat. WHeeeW Ireally smell. Shower time!
"Sebby" is grumpy.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: ?

2006-09-16 [Moving on in Life]: Fuck it, I'll call you by your REAL name.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: Don't.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: so violent!!

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: That wasn't violent! I just told him not to. I happen to think that when someone asks you to call them something, you should call them that, and not something they don't want to be called. Is that so difficult to agree with?

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: That's how teachers around the country and probably the world feel. Sometimes parents want their children to be "respectful" and make them call them Ms/Mr Lastname, when really they want to be called by their first name.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: true...

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: Kind of like my art teacher, who doesn't like being called Mrs. Pitzenburger-Timp, but rather just PT. Or my band teacher, who goes by P-dog. Or my band teacher's brother, the chorus teacher, who is just "Duane".

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: The lady in our office who uses the PA system always calles PT Mrs. PT, because that lady is insane..

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: That's Lois... just Lois ^_^

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Mrs. Pitzenburger-Timp has got to be the best name ever.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: It's so not her, too. She's very classic rocker, hardcore, in-your-face art teacher. It makes me happy that she and her name are so paradoxical.

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: You know...it's actually not that far off, if you ask me...

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: She thinks it makes her sound like someone's rich British aunt of German descent.

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: That's only true if you take it seriously, which obviously she doesn't.
But I think it would be fun to be called Pitzenburger-Timp.
"Good morning Mrs. Pitzenburger Timp" would also be fun to say.
PT's good, too, though.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: I used to call her Mrs. Pitzenburger-Timp. She said something along the lines of, "I'm a vampire. I used that name in the 17th century. Now, I'm hip. They call me PT."

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Ha ha, any sentence starting "I'm a vampire" from a position of authority has to be good.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: XD

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: I'm almost sad I can't fit any more art classes into my schedule due to early graduation.. but then I think... I'm graduating early... and then it's not so bad anymore ^_^

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Now I have to hate you.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: Darn. I hate being hated. If I bake you a cookie, will you unhate me?

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: ?

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: That's usually enough. You overacheiver.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: XD

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: [XxTsomexX], you're kind of coming off as a slightly braindamaged mime.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: I know. The eighty percent of the senior class that doesn't know me hates me, because they think I'm just some nerd slipping through the system, and I should stay for a senior year. The ones who know me think of me as one of them anyway...

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Well, then, that's alright. We had very few social stigmas until the newest batch of freshmen came my senior year. They considered themselves "emo" and wore uncomfortable looking pants. Size 0.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: Oh, I know... it's annoying. Thankfully, I'll probably get away from the emos in college. For homecoming week, instead of western day (which I refuse to participate in) I"m going to have emo day and wear the tightest pants I can shove myself into, with my hair in my eyes and my collar flipped up. Also some scars drawn on my inner wrists.

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: They, of course, happened to claim they were male.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: I can't tell female emo from male emo. It kind of frightens me.

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Yesss...it's quite scary...quite quite scary.
Not as scary as the weather today.
Ghost Winds! AHH!

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: yay wind

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: Yay for wind, indeed! They make line-drying so much more fun!

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Ha ha, well, this wind likes to crop up right in front of my face and either startle me by blowing something around or blow dust in my eyes. I also had strange, stormy dreams last night because of it.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: I'm staying inside, damnit.

2006-09-16 [Sebhar]: My comforter is in the wash as I type this, along with my other sheets and blankets and pillowcases. Fresh air, here we come!

2006-09-16 [peacefrog]: Laundry. That's what I have to do today.

2006-09-16 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-17 [bungalowbill]: We like to walk against wind don't we? Even the pretend variety.

2006-09-17 [XxTsomexX]: yup

2006-09-17 [Amarantha]: Laundry. Is everyone doing laundry today? I thought it was only I that had to do that.

2006-09-17 [XxTsomexX]: lol im not :P i'm cooking dinner

2006-09-17 [Amarantha]: Did that yesterday. Curry. With tofu and vegetables, because I don't like meat in curry and defrosting it is too much work anyway. Lots of vegetables. And peanut butter, because curry is infintely better with peanut butter!

2006-09-17 [XxTsomexX]: lol im making a family recipe called Chicken in the Oven :P

2006-09-17 [Amarantha]: Oooh. Special. ^.^

2006-09-17 [XxTsomexX]: yup lol

2006-09-17 [Amarantha]: Anyone a trig genius here?

2006-09-17 [XxTsomexX]: nope, im only a freshmen :S

2006-09-17 [Sebhar]: Not really, but I've taken precalc, so I might as well have a bash. Wotcha need?

2006-09-18 [Amarantha]: Fortunately, I managed to coerce the next door neighbor into assisting me with vile reading of trigonometric graphs of blood pressure and some such. Not a critical thinker, I am afraid. Thanks for offering, though! I'll be sure to keep you in mind for next time... hehehe

2006-09-18 [Sebhar]: I'm really not either, but I'd take anything to get my mind off my effing physics equations... bleh!

2006-09-18 [Amarantha]: Urk. Physics. I'l get my little sis to help you with those - she's incredibly brilliant! If she gets done with her homework...

2006-09-18 [peacefrog]: I sometimes wish that I could do physics...especially often when I was taking the class...

2006-09-18 [Sebhar]: As it is, I'm kind of attaching myself to my friend Bailey, who understands such things.

2006-09-18 [peacefrog]: I did manage a B.

2006-09-20 [Amarantha]: All you smart math people... I laugh in your general direction, and retire petulantly from the field. If you need help with grammar, I am the young lady with competence in that field who may assist. Or literary analysis. Or history. Words, basically.

Icky math.

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: lets see.... A) I fall asleep in math B)I never do homework C) I always get a B... does that say anything to you? :P

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: It says you're boasting.

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: XD

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: x_O

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: .....

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: That was a glare.

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: idc...ive had a very bad day...

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: Well then... ;D...there's a nicer face.

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: ...

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: Ah! Ellipses! Nooo!

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: ?

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: They're attacking!

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: what is?

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: Ellipses...or ellipsi?

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: i have no clue... epilepsy?

2006-09-20 [peacefrog]: "..." = ellipses.

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: oh...

2006-09-20 [Amarantha]: ellipsi, perhaps? Like octopi. But I think that, sadly, it is like moose. One moose, two moose, one ellipses, two ellipses. Ah, well.

2006-09-20 [Amarantha]: *feigns erudition*

2006-09-20 [XxTsomexX]: XD

2006-09-21 [peacefrog]: Using the word erudition helps.

2006-09-21 [XxTsomexX]: ?

2006-09-21 [Sebhar]: This is true.

2006-09-21 [Amarantha]: Quite.

2006-09-23 [Sebhar]: Yay.

2006-09-23 [XxTsomexX]: good mornin

2006-09-23 [peacefrog]: It's no longer morning here...so good noon.

2006-09-23 [XxTsomexX]: oh :P yeah...

2006-09-23 [peacefrog]: That's ok, good afternoon is almost as good, except if it's when you're greeted when you wake up.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: *sighs* i just got outta the hospital

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Interesting subject change...
I'm sorry.

2006-09-24 [Amarantha]: Why were you in the hospital? I'm sorry you were in it, and it's nice that you are out!

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: i just got outof it again... I've been having allergic reactions to something, but the docs have no clue what...

2006-09-24 [Amarantha]: Oh. Icky. How terrible! I hope they figure it out soon.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: yeah, same here!

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Wow, that's not very fun.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: it isnt at all

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: How do you know what to avoid?

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: i dont, thats the issue

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Damn, so do just have to have an epipen with you at all times and say "ahh, that's what it was.." later?

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: no, i have to take steroids, benedryl and something else... my epipen is only for if I have trouble breathing.

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Will they ever figure it out?

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: dunno, i might go to an allergist tomorrow

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Well, I hope that works out.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: yeah, i do 2 i hate needles...

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: I don't hate needles because I'm diabetic...unless it's a vein needle in the arm. Ow.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: you mean an IV? I had to have one last night in the hospital and this mornin in the hospital... i hate it!

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: An IV, an injection ( I suppose that's mostly drug abusers, huh?), and especially blood draws.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: yeah >.<

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: I have a big problem with it...for no really good reason.

Well, except for bad blood draws a long time ago.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: yuck

2006-09-24 [peacefrog]: Then, not long ago, someone actually said "I have to figure out if this is a tendon or a vein"...and I cried.

2006-09-24 [XxTsomexX]: ... ow...

2006-09-25 [Amarantha]: I don't much mind needles, being a seamstress of sorts. The only time I had an IV was bad though. It was for getting my wisdom teeth out and the doctor guy got stuck in a vein valve twice before he got the thing in, which hurt and left me with enough bruises and pokes I looked like a morphia addict (I only have a description of morphia from a book so that's the one I used.)

I hope you guys don't get poked too much more!

2006-09-25 [Sebhar]: I get one allergy shot in each arm once a week. They bruise a lot, for some reason.

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: Geeze, not cool.

I get a blood draw every six months( or I am supposed to), I insert a insulin pump set every three days, and I try to poke my finger at least 4 times a day, but school makes me negligent.

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: my grandmother has diabetes, so I have to give her shots and stuff

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: She doesn't do them herself, huh? Type 1 or Type 2?

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: idk, the worst one i guess

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: That doesn't help much...adult onset? Insulin dependant?

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: insulin dependant

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: Ah. Yes. Type one. I don't know if it's worst, certainly deadlier.

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: *sighs*

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: But we get to eat things.

2006-09-25 [bungalowbill]: adult onset is becoming the wrong term, because Americas fat-ass children are eating so poorly that now they're getting it.

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: yeah... and people sue mcdonalds because they are getting fat...

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: First let's battle stupidity, then let's fight obesity...

and I know that, but it's more understandable that way...

2006-09-25 [XxTsomexX]: yeah

2006-09-25 [peacefrog]: Or maybe we'll all die. That'd be fun. *flourish*

2006-09-26 [bungalowbill]: ...Or maybe we'll all flourish.

2006-09-26 [XxTsomexX]: O_o

2006-09-27 [peacefrog]: *flourish*

2006-09-27 [XxTsomexX]: ?

2006-09-27 [peacefrog]: It's a double entendre.

2006-09-27 [tyler likes to eat zebra cakes]: etendre??

2006-09-27 [drakkar]: <,< flourish?

2006-09-27 [XxTsomexX]: why are we sayin random things?

2006-09-27 [drakkar]: ohh no sorry misunderstood the meaning wrong website XD

2006-09-27 [XxTsomexX]: lol

2006-09-27 [peacefrog]: It's hopeless.
